Bug Splat privacy

Updated October 24, 2026 · Version 1.0.0 and version 1.1.0 sponsor-break editions, including internal tests.

Local play and progress

Breakroom Gaming Co. makes Bug Splat, package com.breakroomgamingco.bugsplat. Native builds store job completion, swatter trophies, best times, Endless Patrol records, and sound/motion settings on your device. Browser builds use that browser's site storage. Local saves are not synchronized between devices. Clearing app or site data can permanently remove them.

Version 1.0.0 contains no advertising SDK. Version 1.1.0 sponsor-break editions include Google Mobile Ads and its User Messaging Platform. Build 13 uses Google AdMob; the later mediation candidate adds Unity Ads through AdMob. Internal test editions use sample ads. This policy describes those editions and does not mean that a candidate build or ad network is publicly available. Production sponsor breaks depend on privacy choices and ad availability. Bug Splat has no in-app purchases, chat, or separate gameplay analytics SDK. It does not request access to contacts, location, camera, microphone, or photos. The standalone browser preview does not submit online scores. Native 1.0.0 and later support optional online accounts.

Optional online account records

On the Breakroom Gaming website and in the Android and iOS game, you can play as a guest. If you sign in before a run, the game sends its game/category identifiers, run identifier, active duration, score or cleanup time, completed waves, pest count, and missed-tap count to Breakroom Gaming over an encrypted connection. The server links the completed record to your existing account and records its start and finish times. This does not upload your full local save.

Public leaderboards display a nickname and best score or time only when you opt in through your account. You can turn public display off without losing your private local progress. Account records are included in your account data export and removed through the existing account deletion process. Sign-in, hosting, account retention, and account rights are covered by the Breakroom account privacy policy. Accounts are for players 13 and older; a guest does not need an account to play.

Bug Splat public nickname controls

Bug Splat’s website leaderboard provides Report and Block player controls. Reports require sign-in and save your account reference, the reported player’s opaque public identifier and nickname snapshot, a categorical reason, board context, time and review status in a private studio queue. Only the verified studio moderator can read reports or suppress public display. No free-text report details, email addresses or IP addresses are stored in that queue. Reports expire after 90 days and are purged on subsequent moderation access. Deleting a related account removes those reports and account blocks. Suppression does not remove private game records, prevent account access, or change other games.

Signed-in blocks are private to your account and persist until unblocked or the relevant account is deleted. Guest blocks are separate and apply only in that browser; clearing site storage removes them. Blocks use public player identifiers, so they survive nickname changes and distinguish identical nicknames. Public nicknames are automatically screened for a limited set of abusive terms; human moderation handles reports and context. You can unblock players from the leaderboard’s Blocked players list. Contact breakroomgamingco@gmail.com about safety concerns or appeals. A report receipt confirms storage in the queue, not a decision or a promised response time.

Mobile sign-in

Native sign-in sends your email and password over HTTPS to our account provider, Supabase. Passwords are not saved by the game. A renewable sign-in token is stored using Android Keystore encryption or the iOS Keychain; access tokens remain in memory. Signing out clears the saved sign-in token. Supabase and our hosting provider process account, connection and security information, including IP addresses, to operate and protect the service. We do not use this information for advertising or cross-app tracking.

Optional mobile sponsor breaks

In sponsor-break editions, ads are off by default and are offered only to players who confirm they are 18 or older. Enable them in Account & Help → Ad Choices. Ads may appear when continuing after completed cleanup jobs; the game does not place them during active play or Endless Patrol. Guest play, locations, trophies and records remain available with sponsor breaks off. Ads do not grant points or leaderboard advantages.

When you enable sponsor breaks, Google's User Messaging Platform checks and presents applicable privacy choices before the game requests ads. If that check cannot finish, play continues without ads. The game requests non-personalized ads. In the mediation edition, Google AdMob coordinates ads from Google and Unity Ads. The adapter passes applicable consent signals to Unity, and the game also sends Unity a restriction against personalized advertising. Breakroom does not send your account email, password, nickname, account identifier or game scores to either ad provider.

Non-personalized ads are not anonymous or data-free. Google's advertising services and ad partners can process IP/network information (including approximate location), device or app-scoped identifiers, ad interactions, and diagnostic/performance information to provide and measure ads and prevent fraud. Bug Splat does not request location permission or provide GPS coordinates. This integration removes Android advertising-ID permissions, disables publisher first-party IDs before ad loading, and does not request iOS tracking permission. Other identifiers permitted by the platform and your choices may still be processed. Read Google's advertising privacy information and review the partner details in the privacy message.

Unity's SDK disclosures also cover provider-assigned identifiers, ad interaction and performance information, and purchase/conversion-related information used for advertising measurement. Bug Splat has no in-app purchases and does not send game purchase events. Removing advertising-ID permissions does not prevent all other identifiers from being processed. See Unity's privacy policy.

A subsequent mediation candidate also includes the ironSource Ads SDK for ironSource Exchange (iSX) demand through AdMob. It remains disabled for production until its store registration, privacy disclosures and device checks are complete. Applicable privacy choices are collected before ad requests; the adapter receives UMP consent signals, and Bug Splat sets ironSource's do_not_sell restriction before initialization and requests. The provider may process device/app identifiers, IP/network information, ad interactions and performance/diagnostic information to serve and measure ads and prevent fraud. Breakroom does not send game-account credentials, nicknames, account identifiers or scores to this provider. Provider privacy and data-rights information is available in Unity's privacy policy.

Planned iOS mediation release

The planned iOS release uses Unity LevelPlay to coordinate optional interstitial ads from Google and Unity Ads. LevelPlay's ironSource SDK operates the mediation service; ironSource Exchange ad demand is not enabled in this initial candidate. Sponsor breaks require an adult's opt-in, Google's applicable regional privacy check, and authorization through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt. Advertising and measurement depend on the permissions and regional choices you grant. Advertising partners may use device identifiers for cross-app advertising measurement when permission is granted. Bug Splat does not treat permission to request an ad as consent to personalized advertising, and sends a restriction against sale or sharing through LevelPlay. Declining or restricting tracking permission leaves the full game available without sponsor ads. You can turn sponsor breaks off in Ad Choices and manage tracking permission in iOS Settings. No game-account email, password, nickname, account identifier, or score is sent to LevelPlay or its ad partners. Android continues to use AdMob mediation with Google and Unity Ads. This LevelPlay iOS release is not yet available; earlier versions retain the behavior described above.

Turn sponsor breaks off in Ad Choices to stop further ad requests. Where available, Ad Privacy Options lets you review or withdraw privacy choices. Turning ads off does not delete information already processed by Google or its partners; use their privacy controls for those requests. Breakroom account deletion and local progress controls remain separate from advertising choices. Unity ads include a Data Privacy control for provider access, opt-out and data deletion requests. Disabling sponsor breaks stops further requests by the game; it does not erase data already held by Google, Unity or their partners. Website advertising has its own controls under the website privacy policy.

Support and platform services

Web requests can include your IP address and browser/device details in hosting and security logs. App stores and operating systems operate their own download and diagnostic services. If you email breakroomgamingco@gmail.com, we receive the message and any information you choose to include so we can respond. Please include only what is needed.

Your choices

Play signed out to keep gameplay records local. Use Account & Help in the game to change public leaderboard display, sign out, or delete your account. The account page also provides account deletion and data export. Deleting your Breakroom account removes its online records across all Breakroom games; local device progress is separate. If deletion cannot finish, contact support so we can resolve it. Clearing local app/site data removes local progress separately. For privacy questions or support data requests, contact breakroomgamingco@gmail.com. This page will be updated when Bug Splat's data practices change.
