Learn the climb-and-dive rhythm
Start with Learn to Fly or the practice range. Hold to climb and release to dive; your guns fire automatically. Short corrections help you stay in a useful part of the screen without committing to a long rise or fall. Follow the in-game control prompts for your keyboard or touch layout.
On a phone, landscape gives you a wider view of what is ahead. Before launching, set music and sound to comfortable levels and make sure you can see the route around cover.
Leave yourself an escape route
Watch the open space around your ship, not just the target in front of it. Solid cover and enemy fire can close a route while you are concentrating on damage. Move early enough to cross a gap with a small adjustment instead of a last-second sweep.
Mining shutters in Endless Patrol make this especially important. Read the opening and line up before reaching it. Avoid drifting to an edge simply to stay on an enemy; a little room above and below is useful when a new threat appears.
Give Pulse and Beam a purpose
Pulse is a defensive option against nearby threats. Beam rewards lining up a distant target. Learn both in practice so you recognize when an ability will help and when ordinary movement is enough. Use the game’s readiness indicators rather than assuming an ability is available.
Against a commander, spend the first attempts observing its attack pattern. Learn where the charged volleys or split beams leave safe space, then fit your attacks around that movement. Staying alive gives you more time to deal damage.
Build a squadron you understand
Rookie, Veteran, Rival and Mechanic have distinct specialties and personal ships. You can also create custom pilots, choose fighter designs and customize hull colors, paint layouts, wings and engines. Four ships are starters; six more unlock with earned salvage.
Recover materials and read blueprints at the Mechanic’s forge. Choose equipment with a clear purpose for your next attempt. Keeping a familiar setup for a few runs makes it easier to distinguish a stronger loadout from better flying.
Campaign, practice or Endless?
The three-mission story travels through Outpost Nine, Ashbelt and Starforge. Read the mission briefing before launching. Use practice for a specific skill, the campaign for mission progression, and Endless Patrol when you want rising difficulty and a score to improve.
Pilot, equipment and campaign progress are stored in this browser. Clearing site data or using a different browser can leave that local save behind. Browser and mobile saves are separate. An account or leaderboard record is not a backup of your local squadron.
Need a hand?
If the game will not load, audio is quiet or your save is missing, start with browser troubleshooting. For game information, return to Blastwing; for recent website changes, read our patch notes.
